Who we are
Since 1966, John Mavrovouniotis the owner of “Yiannis Rent a Car” has been dealing with cars professionally in many different areas.
From 1967-1976 he was a professional racing driver (Rally) in Athens and the whole of Greece.
Rally Acropolis, Tatoi, Parnitha were some of the many races he raced and was a champion in his category in Parnitha, driving a BMW 2002 / 240 HP. He was officially with the Spanos Team (Spanos is now the dealer of BMW in Greece) and drove many different racing car models like Lancia Stratos, Datsun, Alpha Romeo - Alfeta.
 
Having all this experience in 1984 he started a car hire business in Nissaki Corfu and moved to Kassiopi in 1988, where has been his business base since then.
 His love for cars and experience has proven useful in the following years when the car hire business reached its pick. This helped him keep a high standard in the cars he has been hiring.
His first business offered car hire, money exchange and tourist services.
His main concern has been “safety”. As he himself has faced a lot of dangers during his racing years John Mavrovouniotis has paid a lot of attention into safety features.
As an experienced driver he realized that road conditions in the Greek islands were not ideal for driving, so he has always been vigilant in terms of the good condition of cars and safety measures.
Since 1992, he has been continuously elected as the Vice President in the board of the Union of car hire agents in Corfu.
He has been an active member since 1992.
The goal of the Union is to rectify the problems arising for the profession of the car hire agent in Corfu, by making suggestions to the government and the local authorities.
Lately Mr Mavrovouniotis has been elected Vise President of the Hellenic Union of Car and Bike Rental Owners (P.O.G.E.A.DI).
As a conclusion, John Mavrovouniotis’s long experience and personal interest in the area of car hire are the elements of his long success, and guarantee the quality of his services.
